Andre Richaume circa 1927

January 9, 2023

This bow arrived in the U.K. on the 8th. December and was sold to a busy London player on the 5th. January. The reason is straightforward, he is just such a glorious maker. His bows are in high demand, for me the main reason he is so successful is because there is a slightly addictive feel of his bows on the string, this is very comforting for the player. Also he was a fine restorer so his output of his own bows was limited.

My objective is to bring fine bows to players, to advise on suitability of bows for various playing styles and to marry appropriate bows to clients’ violins. I am committed to restoring fine bows to their former glory both from a historical and an ecological standpoint.
