Available in autumn, a first class Sartory, original in all parts but having suffered some damage to the head. Watch this space!
The new head (a precise replica of the old damaged one) can be seen below as this bow restoration nears completion. The join is long with the original pernambuco reaching all the way to the new head. This join is extremely difficult to see, the casual observer will not notice it at all!
It is always tremendously enjoyable to play on a Sartory bow once it has been brought back from a poor state of preservation. This type of Sartory (I have restored and sold about thirty like this) is a glorious bow to use, from his best period and with a certificate from Cabinet d’Archetiers, Paris. Sartory at his best but on a budget, fabulous value.
The rounded frog is quite rare, mostly done around the 1903-1910 era they are particularly sought after by collectors.
