Arriving this autumn one of the last bows as Peter Hembrough bows slowly sells off stock and after providing fine bows for players around the world the shutters finally come down after forty-five years of trading. A beautiful example but with a head break, the playing qualities are very reminiscent of Francois Xavier Tourte. This head was repaired with a replacement head, again probably a head from another Lupot stick as his hand is seen in the head.
It has some beautiful stamps both on the handle and also under the lapping of both the second Lupot stamp and A Paris. The second stamp tells us the bow was made between 1825/1830. The handle and frog are in first class condition, this is extraordinary given the age. In his workshop at this time both Lafleur le jeune and Dominique Peccatte were working for Lupot, a tremendous bow workshop, perhaps the best ever!
